Everybody uses excuses, its summer, what’s the point now, I’ll start in winter…. but then still moan about the fact they aren’t happy with their body… everyday is a reason to make yourself feel better about you and work towards how you want to feel within yourself, whether that is a performance related goal, fitness related or body related. But there is no better day than Monday and the beginning of a new week to really kickstart your fitness habit… But Why?

    From working as a personal trainer for years and from evidence of friendship groups, when you start on a Monday, you spend the rest of that day, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday not wanting to mess up what you achieved on Monday, therefore you eat better, stay more focused and feel accomplished. This feeling of accomplishment will spur you on to  get yourself back in there the next day. The feeling and release of endorphins from your gym session will make you feel amazing after. Study after study confirms the direct relationship between exercise and increased feel-good hormones, including a study that suggests high-intensity exercise modulates the brain in a very similar way to cocaine use . (That’s gotta feel good.) Another recent study confirmed that serotonin, dopamine, and norepinephrine levels in the hippocampus were significantly increased by exercise, suggesting physical activity can help manage depression . Think if you start today by next week, you will be another step closer to feeling happier about you. 
  3. Exercising can help you win at life:
    Setting and achieving goals inside the gym, fitness, health about you helps you set and achieve goals outside this area aswell. The goal-setting/goal-accomplishing cycle is a learned trait. From a very early age, winners start to reinforce this idea that if they set their mind to something and tirelessly work towards its accomplishment, the outcome will be positive.
